Community Health Equity Project (CHEP)
The purpose of our community health equity project assessments are to engage community members and key stakeholders to better understand the conditions, specific to their community, that affect health and access to care. This work will help foster a deeper understanding among stakeholders of the challenges and guide prevention efforts.
The community health assessments are led by a multidisciplinary team of public health researchers, project specialists, and data analysts, who leverage local partnerships with community members, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHCs), faith-based organizations, community centers, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), and academic institutions.
Community members and key stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and experiences will be recruited to participate in qualitative and quantitative research, including through focus groups, key stakeholder interviews, and a community health survey.
The team analyzes the findings to better understand the impact of community factors on health and wellbeing, including gaps in services and barriers and facilitators to care in the different counties. Through strengths-based and solutions-focused approaches, this work can help guide new programs and initiatives to promote community-driven solutions to health equity for these communities.
